John Washington III Says Threats Are Not the Answer, and That the Government Must Answer to the People
John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, said the case of a Michigan man charged with threatening FBI Director Kash Patel points to a deeper problem — a loss of trust in government — and that the answer is accountability, not threats or violence.

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, said America has a serious problem that goes much deeper than one man threatening an FBI director, after a Michigan man was charged with allegedly threatening to kill FBI Director Kash Patel. He said every American has the right to challenge their government, criticize elected officials and speak out against corruption, but he drew a line at threats.
"THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STANDING UP FOR YOUR RIGHTS AND THREATENING SOMEONE'S LIFE!" he wrote. "I do not support threats, violence, or intimidation against anyone, whether they're an ordinary citizen, a police officer, an FBI director, or the president of the United States."
John Washington III said that when citizens become frustrated with their government, the country should ask why so many Americans are losing trust in the institutions created to serve and protect them. "BUT I ALSO DO NOT SUPPORT A GOVERNMENT THAT EXPECTS RESPECT WITHOUT ACCOUNTABILITY!" he wrote. "Nobody should be above the law, and that includes the people enforcing it." He said the answer is to protect freedom of speech, uphold due process and demand transparency: "THE ANSWER IS NOT TO THREATEN THE GOVERNMENT. THE ANSWER IS TO MAKE THE GOVERNMENT ANSWER TO THE PEOPLE!"
