John Washington III Asks Where the Fight Is From Politicians Who Say They Work for the People
John Washington III, a 2028 presidential candidate, questioned politicians who campaign on fighting for the people, asking why they do not fight to hold corrupt police officers accountable, why property taxes never end on homes families have paid for, and why tax increases pass without full public awareness.

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, raised the questions in a written statement asking how politicians can claim to work for the people without fighting for them. "How can you claim to work for the people when you never fight for the people?" he wrote. "Every election season, we hear the same thing," he wrote, citing campaign claims of working, fighting and representing the people, and asking, "Where is the fight?"
On policing, John Washington III asked why politicians who claim to represent the people do not fight to hold corrupt police officers accountable when officers abuse their authority or engage in corruption, and why they do not stand up for the citizens who put them in office. The questions were directed at politicians generally; he named no individual officer or case in the statement.
On property taxes, John Washington III asked why politicians talk about lowering property taxes but never seriously discuss ending property taxes on the homes people own and live in, asking when a family that spends 20 or 30 years paying off a home actually gets to own what it worked for. He also asked how a politician can campaign on lowering property taxes, win office, and then vote for tax increases, and why citizens are not made fully aware of decisions that could raise their property tax bills. "Where is the transparency? Where is the accountability? Where is the representation?" he wrote.
