California Early Vote Tops 6.35 Million Ballots Cast, Already Past All of 2022's Early Ballots
As of Monday, 6,351,050 Californians have cast ballots — 6,052,539 by mail and 298,511 in person — a pace 21 percent ahead of 2022, with Los Angeles County's 646 vote centers open Monday until 7 p.m.

California's early vote reached 6,351,050 ballots cast as of Monday, November 2, according to the California early vote tracker compiled from state election offices via civicAPI and read this cycle: 6,052,539 mail ballots returned and 298,511 ballots cast in person. Voters had requested 23,451,219 mail ballots in all.
The pace is running ahead of the last midterms. The tracker puts California's early vote at 100 percent of the 5.23 million early ballots cast in all of 2022, at a pace 21 percent above that cycle, and at 57 percent of 2022's total turnout — before Election Day itself. FOX 11's final-push report put the statewide count at nearly 5.8 million mail ballots reported returned as of November 1, with approximately 23.4 million active registered voters in California.
In Los Angeles County, early in-person voting continues Monday at 646 vote centers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and any county voter can vote at any center. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, vote centers open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the county's 429 ballot drop boxes lock at 8 p.m. Voters who still hold a mail ballot can complete it, sign the return envelope and return it at any vote center or drop box, and eligible voters who missed the registration deadline can use conditional voter registration at a vote center.
