Franklin Avenue in Hollywood Drops to Three Lanes November 2 to December 5 for the 101 Bridge Rehabilitation
Caltrans will close two eastbound lanes of Franklin Avenue overnight on November 2 to install K-rail, then hold eastbound Franklin to three lanes between Vine Street and Argyle Avenue through December 5.

Caltrans has announced a temporary lane closure on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood starting Monday, November 2, through December 5, for bridge rehabilitation at the Argyle-Franklin Undercrossing. Two lanes of eastbound Franklin Avenue will be closed overnight on Monday, November 2, for K-rail installation, and eastbound Franklin will then be reduced to three lanes between Vine Street and Argyle Avenue for the duration of the work. The corresponding sidewalk will be closed to pedestrian traffic, and work zones will be clearly marked with signs and K-rail barriers.
On the first night, Monday night, November 2, through Tuesday morning, November 3, eastbound Franklin Avenue will be reduced to two lanes overnight between Vine Street and Argyle Avenue from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Caltrans encouraged motorists to allow extra travel time and to drive with caution in the area, and noted that the schedule is subject to change for weather or operational reasons.
The work is part of a $20.8 million bridge rehabilitation project covering the Argyle-Franklin Undercrossing and Gower Street off-ramp bridges on U.S. 101 and the Big Tujunga Wash bridge on I-210, with seismic retrofitting, bridge deck resurfacing, and reconstruction of slabs and curb ramps. The contractor is Truesdell Corporation of California, Inc.
