John Washington III Questions Whether Judges Put the Constitution and the People First
John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, argued that judges are bound by the U.S. Constitution and asked why people so often feel their constitutional rights do not get a fair look in court.

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, raised what he called a conflict of interest in the courts. He wrote that state judges are bound by the U.S. Constitution and that in Texas they also swear to uphold the state constitution. "But too often, people feel the constitution that should come first gets overlooked," he wrote. "I'm asking why."
John Washington III said people walk into court again and again and feel their constitutional rights do not get a fair look, and that outcomes can feel pre-decided. "I'm asking why loyalty to an office seems to matter more than loyalty to the people," he wrote.
"They ask for your vote, then serve their office instead of the people," he wrote. "That's not justice. That's not acceptable." John Washington III said the people deserve judges who put the constitution and the people first.
