John Washington III Asks Why People Keep Following Politicians Who Do Not Care About Them

John Washington III, a candidate for president in 2028, posed a direct question to voters. "Why do people keep following politicians who don't give a damn about them?" he wrote. He asked why people care so much about what somebody thinks when that same person, in his words, does not care anything about them, and why they continue supporting politicians who talk like they love the people while their actions tell a completely different story.

"They tell you what you want to hear," he wrote. "They promise you change. They claim they're fighting for your family." John Washington III asked where that same energy is when it is time to make decisions that affect people's lives, why some politicians campaign on one thing and then vote for something completely different, and why people defend them without checking their voting records. "Stop listening to what they say and start paying attention to what they do," he wrote.

John Washington III then turned to money in office, noting that most members of Congress receive an annual salary of $174,000 and asking where additional money comes from — investments, businesses, inheritance, or financial relationships the public does not know about. Having millions does not automatically mean somebody committed a crime, he wrote, but being a public official should never put anyone above financial scrutiny, and he pointed to the public financial disclosure requirements members of Congress already have. Any politician secretly accepting illegal payments in exchange for political favors should be investigated, he wrote, and held accountable if the evidence proves corruption. The intake text ends mid-statement; this remake uses only its complete material.
